  Location for Help Documents has moved!

Hey guys;

Just another little update to the forums, some of the links and places to find things have shuffled around in order to make things easier to access. Instead of having the help documents on the homepage, they are now accessible from the bottom of the page. The top of the page also has links to social media outlets and resources such as downloads and the banning database.

The bottom of the page includes links to the calendar for upcoming events and informative posts plus the member list to view a particular member or all of them, and the search functionality. The search functionality can be used to find something specifically in a post or view posts by a user. Hopefully this is easier to access!

  Teamspeak 3 Issues Resolved

Hey guys;

Yet another bit of development updates. Whoo! Quite a few of them today, you can tell that I've been busy (and stressed). Seems like a good time to get things done, but I'll see how things go as I have exams coming up. I'll try to keep everything running smoothly and fine as things continue along, so the network shouldn't have any major issues.

Anyway, last night we were having some server issues regarding Teamspeak 3 and packet loss. The issue was that one of our mitigation firewalls was under excessively high load as per an error by our host, resulting in almost 50% packet loss for Teamspeak users in the United States. This was only affecting one side of our routes as the other side of our routes to EU was not affected at all.

Everything should be resolved, so please let me know if there are any other issues.

It's been quite a long and windy road to keep hosting games up to this point, but we won't be stopping any time soon! The UHC community is going to be booming on our server this weekend, rocking and having fun with all the /r/ultrahardcore players. If you want to join in on the fun, join at exactly 1:00 PM PST by using http://time.is/pst in order to make it on time when the whitelist goes off.

Hey guys!

Just thought that I'd bring yet another cool feature to you guys in order for you to be able to get help quickly in game.

On any of the servers, you are now able to use the command called /modreq. This command allows for you to submit a support ticket that I am able to effectively handle and provide feedback and questions as well to you so you will be able to have the situation resolved or see what happened.

If you had been griefed on Hardcore Towny, you could do the following command while standing at your house: /modreq My house had 3 diamonds stolen from the upstairs chest.

Using that command effectively would allow for both the player and administration side of things to be handled smoothly and rapidly when compared to an alternative forum-based system. Of course, you can also include the ticket ID number and post it on the forums if the matter is immediate or needs other things (such as screenshots attached).

Big news! Awesome fun!

We got a new series of frontend units to run our proxies! These units are nearly ten times as powerful when combined compared to the old units. Player count is good for at least 250 players now, and we could probably really push everything to 500 players.

Let me know if lag has improved. In the meantime, HCTowny will be down for some quick dev fixes and updates including economy rebalancing. Stay tuned, folks!

Rise and return of the creative server!

A simple creative plot server is now available for everyone to use! It's all alive and runs fine, and we're going to be adding the following features to be able to use on it!

Planned Features:

  • WorldEdit levels available
  • Buying extra plots
  • Building contests weekly!
  • Advanceable ranks based on builds
  • Buildings can be entered as spawns


A few of the features are not quite available yet for people to be able to use, so we'll be trying to add them as soon as possible. We'll be working to bring more players onto the network, and then we'll try to form us all together to intertwine the community.

The builds from our previous creative server that we consider to be our 'best of' builds from before will be brought over for all to see.

First planned Build Contest:
  • Saturday, March 8, 2014
  • Contest will be at 3:00 PM
  • Winner will get $50,000 on HCTowny and $25,000 on the lobby.


This week's theme: Modern-style Buildings!

We've been getting a lot of questions recently that could easily be answered if we had a central place to post them. I have went ahead and made a section of help documents where people can go ahead and find the answer to simple problems like these that are repeatedly asked and people complaining that they did not understand if it was in the rules.

This forum section is public and able for anyone to see, so you do not need to be logged in. Guest users are more than welcome to read these over (they probably should!) to get a general idea of how the network runs. You can direct users here with a simple link in the form of http://ironwolfmc.net/help.

Rules and other resources are available there, as well as guidelines that the administration team typically will follow to handle situations as well. Please let me know below if there are any specific subjects that you would like to see an entry on to answer any questions easily that you and likely many other members of the community share.

In light of the recent changes to our Lobby, I have instead reverted the lobby back to its original design that we have been using. The other one didn't quite feel like it belonged with us as this once does, so I've gone ahead and set the changes in.

If you have anything new that you would like to see in the new lobby, please let me know as well as if there are any issues in the lobby.

Yes, since you all seem to be constantly just babbling back and forth in the /newg/ thread, I think that you all would instead appreciate a shoutbox on the forums. A shoutbox allows for you to be able to shout a message and it will stay there and show up to everyone else. It includes a private messaging system that also allows you to click on their name to send a private message.

This will be interesting.
